The National Gallery was founded in 1824 and is situated in Trafalgar Sqaure, London. It is home to over 2,300 paintings from the mid-13th century. Betrand-Jean Redon was born in France, Odilon was a nickname given to him by his mother. Redon almost excusively worked in black and white until he reached the age of 50. He produced many strange, evocative charcoal drawings that he called his 'noirs'.
