The National Gallery was founded in 1824 and is situated in Trafalgar Sqaure, London. It is home to over 2,300 paintings from the mid-13th century. The Gazi Scroll is one of the great documents of Indian Folk Art. Scrolls such as this were often used as visual props in storytelling performances. This register depicts a local ruler riding on a richly-caparisoned elephant.
